BSSI Core Values

Accountability isn’t just about doing what you say you are going to do. It’s about doing what is expected of you. It’s about a willingness to learn and not being afraid to ask for help. We follow through at BSSI. We admit our failures. We learn. We improve.

Here at BSSI we always strive to do the right thing – even when no one is looking. We work transparently, truthfully, and we honor our word.

Customer Service Centric

Our priority is always the customer – we connect with our clients as individuals first, then as a business. We build strong relationships where we listen, then communicate to provide the most consistence service possible. Our delivery is humble, but we strive for excellence.

Have Fun

We love what we do! We are passionate, we laugh, and we enjoy life. At BSSI we choose a positive outlook and seek to celebrate each other’s success.

Our History

BSSI was founded in November of 1997 by Diana Spurgus. As she sat in her basement, with a baby on her lap, Diana laid out plans to help small businesses in her community. From an early age, Diana had a personal mission to help people meet their needs, achieve their goals, and to demonstrate integrity to all around her. This is a mission that continues to direct us today.

Beginning as an accounting software implementation business, BSSI evolved to include pc and phone support at the clients’ request. In 2001 we switched entirely over to managing IT services and moved into our first official office containing a couple of cubicles located on Mulberry Street.

In 2003, we formed our nonprofit arm – Teenworks. Teenworks is a 501(3)c that operates as a staffing agency for young adults, who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

We leased a two-story Lancaster historical heritage district home and converted it into our new office space.

We moved our office to Ewing Street in order to support BSSI and Teenworks under one roof.

Between 2015 and 2017 our company’s client revenue grew 59% and we aren’t slowing down!

2018 held a lot of excitement for us. We moved into our current office (2590 Kull Road, Lancaster), won the 2018 Columbus CEO HR Excellence Good Works Award and our CEO, Diana, was a finalist for the 2018 Columbus CEO HR Excellence Award for Small Organization Executive of the Year.

We value our past and are looking forward to the future!

Community Involvement

Teenworks is the nonprofit arm of BSSI. Founded in 2003, alongside the Fairfield County Jobs and Family Services office, Teenworks operates as a temporary youth staffing agency. Their mission is to help talented and dedicated young adults, facing a variety of barriers, experience the world of work in a positive way. Teenworks reinforces the education, confidence and sense of purpose they need to be successful in their careers and personal lives, as well as prepare them for the realities of adulthood. Employee Community Involvement

We offer several different volunteer opportunities for our employees throughout the year where they can go out into the community as a team and make a difference. We also hold a Diaper Drive for Bottom’s Up every September and participate in the Fairhope Hospice and Pickering House Cookie Walk along with various other fundraisers.
