Service Manager Needed to Supervise Staff Who Fix Computer Problems for Our Customers

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager professional to supervise staff who work with customers onsite and by phone to fix their computer problems. If the issue is software, you or your staff will correct the issue remotely. If it’s hardware or networking, you or a staff member will be sent to the site by our dispatcher.

This is a challenging technical support job where every day is different and you’ll use industry-leading tools to help businesses eliminate frustrating computer problems.

We’re looking for a motivated “ticket closer” to join our team. This position is for someone with Post-Secondary IT training and a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience working as a service engineer, preferably for an IT service company.

This is a position with extensive opportunity for further training and promotion within our company and the possibility of doing a great many different jobs.

Required skills include knowledge and troubleshooting ability for:

  • PC hardware and software;
  • Servers and Windows server operating systems;
  • Microsoft operating systems and programs;
  • Exchange and BES;
  • Adobe software;
  • Blackberrys, iPhones, Android devices and Tablets;
  • Advanced knowledge of LANS, VLANS, VPN, routers, switches, firewalls & all protocols used by current technologies;
  • Analyzing IP traffic patterns;
  • Backup programs;
  • Anti-virus/anti-spyware programs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is a desire to learn and constantly improve your technical knowledge and ability.

The successful candidate will become part of our team, providing onsite and remote support to BSSI’s Service Technicians who help to maintain the health and functionality of our customer’s networks and computers. That includes:

  • Providing management oversight for the personnel on the service team
  • Following up with clients to ensure the highest possible customer satisfaction
  • Doing timesheets, expense reports & ensuring appropriate utilization of time and expenses by the service team
  • Supervising development of new products, services and solutions
  • Providing project management services, purchasing and quotes
